About this event

A Culture First Chicago Chapter + Trauma Chapters + Geneva Chapter + Futures without Violence Collaborative Event

Domestic violence doesn't stop at the office door. Yet many workplaces remain unprepared, or unaware, of how profoundly it affects workers, teams, and organizational culture.

Join us for a 90-minute dialogue-driven session where we'll explore domestic violence comprehensively--including lesser known forms such as sexual, emotional, financial, and employment-related abuse--and examine how it shows up at work.

Together, we'll build practical, trauma-informed awareness and leave with concrete strategies for supporting survivors that anyone, regardless of role or title, can apply.

In this session, participants will:

  • Learn about the full scope of domestic violence, including sexual abuse, economic abuse, and employment sabotage

  • Explore the impact of Domestic Violence on workers and the workplace

  • Identify strategies for creating safer, more supportive workplaces using a trauma-informed lens

  • Explore tools for self-regulation, self-compassion, and collective action--for survivors and allies alike

This session is intentionally designed with a trauma-sensitive framework. We'll open with checking in, hold space for real dialogue, and offer tools to help you navigate the material. All are welcome--HR professionals, people leaders, practitioners, and anyone committed to a more humane workplace.

This event is co-facilitated with Arianna Sessoms, Senior Program Specialist, Futures Without Violence.

This event is hybrid. The Geneva chapter will join in person, while all other Chapters will join via the link provided.
