About this event

The world of work has shifted again.

Before the Pandemic, VUCA described our world as one that was:  Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous

Now, post-pandemic, we're living in a world of 'polycrisis' -- a layering of events characterised as BANI:

 ~Brittle, ~Anxious, ~Non-linear and ~Incomprehensible (BANI)

In this environment, change fatigue sets in, burnout rises and boundaries blur.

So what does this mean for culture leaders?

Based on your input at our last gathering, we invite you join us for a short, sharp exploration of the BANI workplace and resulting mindset. We'll look at:

  • What BANI is, where the idea came from, and why understanding and responding to BANI conditions matters for today’s culture leaders.
  • Why BANI related burnout is increasingly tied to job design, workload, and role clarity in modern workplaces
  • The role boundaries play in resilient organisations
  • What the structural and cultural well being levers may be that go beyond individual coping strategies
  • Who holds responsibility for creating next generation well being that addresses BANI challenges

This Culture First on-line gathering will include an overview of the key concepts followed by facilitated break-out discussion groups to talk about what it really means to work in a world where change and disruption are continuous.

We hope you will come ready to contribute by bringing the ideas you’ve tried, seen or heard around burnout, well being, boundaries, job design, or navigating uncertainty. We'd love you share what you’ve seen work and and learn from the insights you've had on what hasn't worked so well.
