When was the last time work felt like play?
Recent research shows that connection is one of the strongest predictors of employee motivation, performance, and retention. Right now, we've probably got more tools than ever to help us communicate effectively but, in deploying these endless communication tools, we've forgotten the thing that really makes us feel connected: our humanity.
When used correctly, play can be an incredible tool for creating or building strong interpersonal connection. Play gives people an excuse to come together and try new things, and the permission to take risks and make mistakes without the fear of real-world consequences. When we play the right games, in the right way, people start to awaken and remember their innate human capacity for connection.
That's why we're SO excited to be collaborating with T.J. Carter, founder of Prescriptive Play, for a FREE workshop on Wednesday, July 15th for our Culture First Community! Informed by his background in People Operations & Community Development along with 20+ years of experience practicing, performing, and coaching improv comedy, TJ is a master at building low-stakes, high-trust environments for teams to not just come together but, connect and BE together.
Over the course of this 1.5 hour workshop, participants are invited to participate in a series of intentionally designed playful exercises. Each exercise focuses on different aspects of connection, and allows participants the opportunity to actually experience authentic human connection. At the end of the workshop, participants will receive a handout reminding them of the lessons learned, along with insights on how to maintain and even deepen the level of connection they developed long after the workshop is over.
Here's what to expect from the evening:
6:00-6:15pm - Arrival and welcome with some light snacks and drinks
6:15-7:45pm - Workshop
7:45-8:00pm (or as long as you can stay!) - Close, more snacks, more networking!
When you arrive, just call up to Suite #400 (Clipboard) on the ButterflyMX call box and Sarah will buzz you in and up the elevator.
Can't wait to play (with purpose!) with you all!!
